The weather has been stormy these few days, with heavy showers and lightning storms. I hope you've been staying dry! Singapore is a lightning capital of the world, but few photos have captured it as strikingly :) as this composite by Darren Soh | Photographer.
You can see from his photos that Darren has a knack for making the everyday extraordinary. He shows Singapore’s urban landscape in a fresh light. Have a look when you get the chance. Nicely done, Darren! – LHL
People usually give me this incredulous look when I tell them that Singapore has one of the highest incidents of lightning strikes in the world, but the last three nights have proven to show where that belief comes from. As for me, I've been trying to chase lightning storms in order to photograph them for years, but I've never been quite successful until tonight. For the past two nights the storm has been brewing to the South of Singapore so the light show was presented mostly to those who were on the southern coast of the island but tonight, the storm came in fast and furious from Johor and I rushed to a vantage point in Sembawang facing the Straits of Johor where I knew I would have a clear view for miles. I wasn't disappointed - this image is a layer of 12 photos made just under a hour period to show the number of big strikes.
